Meet the Fam

Couldn't find any decent pictures of myself without a blanket of kids.  But here I am with the man of my dreams.  My favorite color is green (and I'm sure to tell you why someday).  I'm originally from East Texas and have lived in Austin almost 15 years.  I adore this city and the life I am privileged to lead within it.

Michael really is that handsome (although he is RARELY seen in a tie).  He is an Amarillo boy turned Austinite.  He is a fearless entrepreneur, a gracious host, a relentless learner, a noble husband, loving father and faithful friend.  I'm pretty sweet on him.

This is Elia.  She is 7 years old, has lost 5 teeth and is one of the most tender-hearted people I know. She loves to write stories, make art, eat yummy things and climb trees.  She is a skilled hula hooper and an accomplished big sister.

This is Austin.  Yes, named after our city among other things.  He is 5 years old, is a man of little words and massive imagination.  He loves swords and story-telling and can content himself just about anywhere.   He is not an easy kid to get to know, but once you do, you are in LOVE.

This is Emerson and she is 3 years old.  Don't let this picture fool you; it is a rare glimpse at the still, quiet version of herself.  Her explosively enthusiastic, sparkly cheerleader, ready-to-help, love bug self is what we see 98% of the time.  She loves kisses, hugs, twirling and sparkly shoes.

Here is Hannah Grace, our youngest.  She is serious and knowing and occasionally silly.  She loves books and cuddles and grapes and being with her siblings (they ARE quite amusing).

Here we are at the newest coffee shop in downtown Austin.  That is Michael's motor bike with which he by passes all the parking-in-Austin woes.  We should start a circus act don't you think?

Did you know that Dandelion means "tooth of the lion" and that they are native to North America and Eurasia?  The entire plant is edible and can now be found on every continent.  And though they are often considered weeds, the taproot of the dandelion helps improve the quality of soil for shallow rooting plants.  How nice.

Those little factoids made me feel much better about using my ubiquitous blogger template.

Our life, so far.

This is the story of the Great Vaclav Adventure, aka, our life.  So far, Michael and I have four kids, three coffee shops and lots of stories to tell.  But there are many more to come.  That's what this blog is about--capturing the highlights of our family's wild and beautiful adventures.  I hope you enjoy reading!
