It's the first chilly day of autumn.
The shop is full. The line presses against the door. The seats are full of neighbors and friends, newspapers and conversations.
The baristas are friendly and calm as they steadily fill the bar with steaming cup after cup.
I'm trying to pinpoint precisely what it is about this moment that makes me so happy.
So happy. And so thankful.

I can totally picture it, thanks to your words. There is something about Fall that gives things a warmth. Maybe it's the weather making you feel like you ought to gather together?
I think the word for it is hearth. Whenever it's cold and people crowd in the shop all bundled up, it's a hearthy atmosphere. I love it soooo much, especially on the weekends because people linger a bit longer than usual.
